Independence Day

Dear Zazuyan as you know on the 26th of November we remember our victory against Marus Blumos. Marus Blumos was a dictator in Zaliba more than 300 years ago. We took him down, on his birthday, by replacing his normal chocolate cake with an XTC chocolate cake. Marcus Blumos died from an overdose and we "the hippies" took over. Zaliba became Zazu, a free-spirited country where anarchy rules. It is almost time to celebrate again!
On Independence Day it is important to wear clothes/accessories in the colours of our flag. Don't forget to at least wear one item with a peace sign on it. The peace sign necklace symbolizes everything Zazu stands for. There are a lot of Zazuyans who love to go all out and wear the most amazing clothing items. So don't hold back! You will also spot a lot of Zazuyans wearing a flower necklace or crown.
You can choose when you start celebrating the day. At some places it can start in the morning, at noon, or in the afternoon. The streets are decorated and you will hear a lot of music outside. We also come together in bars where we drink and sing together. Some of us take our bikes and start riding together. It doesn't matter how old you are, feel free to join us!
At 4 pm everyone older than 16 eats space cake with chocolate. It is important that we eat the space cake at that time because at that precise moment, 300 years ago Marus Blumos died. Later we enjoy a festive meal with our families and friends.
But the real party only starts at night. We once again come on the streets and celebrate together. We gather around a bonfire and start dancing and singing. Our national anthem "Hipza" is of course an essential part of the celebration. At midnight we start the fireworks. After that the party continues until early in the morning.
